SD cards are in abundance now a day, so what would make us
write about one? When Toshiba claims to have the fastest write speed at 240mb
we had to take a closer look.
Toshiba's Exceria Pro cards don?t have any wireless or
special transfer features, but they do claim to take the "World?s
fastest" title for write speeds. This pro SDHCSD card will come in 2 sizes
16 GB and 32 GB and tout the UHS-II high-speed standard for achieving write
speeds of 240MB per second.
Toshiba will also be launching the Exceria SDXC cards with a
capacity of 32 GB and 64GB. They are
also UHS-II compliant, with maximum write speeds of 120MB per second; data read
speeds of all Exceria cards max out at 260MB per second.
So when can we get our hands on one of these puppies? Even
though a worldwide launch is being announced, Japan will be the first country
in October with the Exceria series launching in November.
Pricing info isn't available as of yet, but we expect it to
be a few more dollars than the regular SD cards.
