Aorus GTX SLI Gaming Laptop
 posted  January 11th 2014 at 9:54 AM

Aorus has made a strong entrance into the gaming notebook arena this year with its X7; claiming the title of the Slimmest and Lightest GTX SLI Gaming Laptop on Earth . This is not your everyday gaming laptop. The system boasts  a full Aluminum Chassis, inside an Intel  4th gen Core i7 Haswell Processor with 4 Memory Slots and 16gb of ram DDR3 (32GB MAX). As for storage a pair of 512GB mSATA solid state drives along with a 1TB hard drive.

When it comes to graphics the system has an impressive Nvidia  GeForce GTX 765M GDDR5 4GB in SLI Configuration which is said to be on  par with GTX 780M. Airflow is not a problem the system has 4 vents for continuous circulation.  The X7 has multiple inputs and outputs(USB 3.0 x3, USB 2.0 x2, HDMI, D-sub, RJ45, Surround port, mini-Display port, SD card reader)allowing for up to a 3 monitor displays.

The size and weight are on par with some of the higher end gaming laptops coming in with a Slim and  Light: 0.9 in. / 6.39 lbs .The display is a Anti-glare Full HD display with 8ms Response and  72% Color gamut. Another of the cool features on the X7 it?s the Scissor-switch Macro Key with backlit keyboard and fan control.

We had a chance to play with the system for a little bit, it was setup with 3 monitors and it ran extremely smooth.  We also played Assassins Creed in 4k resolution connected to a 4k TV and it ran amazingly well. The only down side I could find was the same issue with most gaming laptops the battery.

The notebook has a Li Polymer 73.26Wh battery and from what we were told on power saving mode you are looking at about 3hrs of battery.  If you attempt to game while on the battery you will notice the frame rate loss, but again nothing different from any other gaming laptop.

The system ships with one available configuration at the time. We will try to get our hands on one before the release for additional testing and some Benchmarking . We are look forward to seeing what this power house can do and how it measures up against some of the other high end laptops in the gaming notebook arena.
